On Tuesday, June 9, 2015 twenty-nine eighth graders officially graduated from St. Columbkille School. The day consisted of a baccalaureate Mass, awards luncheon, and commencement ceremony. Salutatorian, Natalia Magaňa, and Valedictorian, Michael Romero, spoke of memories of their time at St. Columbkille. Honor graduates included: Biana Cruz, Miquel Gonzalez and Katherine Jimenez. The Mary Pinkney Memorial Scholarship recipients were Natalia Magaňa and Michael Romero. The Henry Ware Athletic Award was given to Ashley Aragon and the Msgr. Michael Lenihan Service Award was given to Miquel Gonzelez. In addition, retired Science teacher Joyce Sheffie established the Sheffie Science Award which were presented to Natalia Magaňa and Rodolfo Olivera. The Granddaughter of Mary Pinkney presented this year’s awards. The majority of the 2015 graduates will continue attending Catholic High Schools including: Bishop Conaty-Our Lady of Loretto, Cathedral, St. John Bosco and Junipero Serra. Others will be attending local charter high schools. We wish our new alumni members much success. |
