In an effort to educate the whole child and meet the interests of the students, drama, music and art are offered at the school.
Music Music classes are given to all students once a week. St. Columbkille School has partnered with Arts Alive for the 2016-2017 school year in order to provide music and performing arts classes after school.
Arts Alive’s mission is to offer high quality music and performing arts training to students. Every week Arts Alive teaches guitar, drums, and dance to 91 students from Kindergarten through 8th grade. Arts Alive aims to keep classes affordable, convenient, and exciting for the students at St. Columbkille School. Classes are taught in the school auditorium or classroom. Each session is eight weeks long with four sessions held throughout the school year. Below is the list of classes, schedules, and prices for session five which begins September 2014 and ends June 20, 2015. To register and pay for the classes, please pass by the school office or register on-line at: http://www.kingsandclowns.com/products-page/st-columbkille-school/
Art Teachers have been trained to teach art through Art Trek Inc., a non profit organization that is dedicated to inspiring children’s creative, perceptive and expressive growth through meaningful art experiences in a non-judgmental environment. Art lessons are directly taught and incorporated throughout the curriculum.
Performing Arts Students interested in the performing arts can audition and participate in the Christmas and Spring musicals. The “drama club” meets daily to prepare for the shows. In addition, students can participate in any of the performing arts classes offered through Arts Alive (see above).
Digital Media Arts Club The DMA after school program is a project-based program in which students will create and showcase digital media using Apple iPads! Projects include creating film shorts, animation, music and photo slideshows.
