On September 12, 2012, two lucky students and their parents attended the St. Vincent de Paul Society’s Annual Back Pack Give-Away Luncheon at the L.A. River Center and Garden. This year the St. Vincent of Paul Society, together with the Specialty Family Foundation Catholic School Consortium and the City of Los Angeles honored and helped 48 students from Catholic Schools so they can have all the necessary school supplies for the year. Parents appreciated the help. Our students, Maria and Leslie, both said, “I feel so special and I’m going to work extra hard now.” St. Columbkille is grateful to Ursula Hyman, Vice-President and member of the Society’s board, David Fields, the Society’s Executive Director and Deb Estes, President of the Specialty Family Foundation for choosing St. Columbkille to participate in this beautiful event.
