Student Support

In an effort to support each and every one of our students and families, St. Columbkille provides the following progrems to help students experience success.  To get more information about any support programs click here.

Saint Julie Learning Center

Times      Before School Monday-Thursday 7:30-7:50am
After School Monday-Thursday 3:00-5:00pm (Regular Dismissal) 12:45-5:00pm (Early Dismissal)

As part of a recent renovation, St. Columbkille can provide academic support for any student at the school and surrounding community in the form of a library and computer lab.  The library has a variety of multi-media resources available for students to use for schoolwork.  The computers aid student research and publication of assignments.  After school homework assistence is provided by our resident Americorps Volunteers and SJLC coordinator on Mondays-Thursdays.  Students are allowed library time for non-academic use in the morning and after finishing their homework.  Students are allowed computer time for non-academic use after 4:00pm or after their homework is finished.  If the SJLC needs to be closed for any reason students will be informed at morning assembly at least 1 day earlier.  Any student who stays for homework help after school on a day that it is closed will be sent to day care.

Soar To Success (Gr. 3-8)

Times: After School 3:00-3:50pm
(Days vary depending on student needs)

Teachers who find students not excelling with their current class reading program will nominate them to participate in this reading program where they can get individualized lessons.  It supports the current reading curriculum and uses supplemental materials from the regular classroom reading program.

ECIA Title 1 Program

Language Arts instructors and auxiliary services are provided for St. Columbkille School by funds from Title 1.  Selected students who qualify for the program work with Language Arts instructors on a scheduled basis (applicable to certain grade levels).

Extended Day Care

Time: Before School Monday-Friday 6:30-7:30 am. After school Monday-Friday  3:00-6:00pm (Regular Dismissal) 12:45-6:00pm (Early Dismissal)  Phone: (323)-752-8998

The school provides a quality, inexpensive, extended day care program for students, which includes a limited supervised homework period, computers, and playtime.  The EDC staff is not responsible for seeing that a child finishes his/her homework.  Parents need to fulfill that responsibility at home.  Students who participate in extra-curricular activities must be picked up at the designated time or will be sent to EDC and charged.  Charges will begin at 3:15 p.m. on regular school days and 1:00 p.m. on minimum school days. Children who are not picked up on time will be sent to EDC and charged.  For safety and billing reasons all students must be signed out when leaving.  The student may only leave with a person designated on the emergency card or pick-up list.  No child will be allowed to leave the building unsupervised.
Fees (includes morning and after school day care):

Monthly Fees:  $90 for one child
(per family)  $110 for two children
$120 for three children or more

Part time or
ocassional use fees:
$3.00 per hour for one child
$2.00 per hour for each additional child

Additional Fees: $1.00 per minute late after 6:00pm

The monthly fee must be paid on the first day of each month.  There is a $10 additional fee for bills paid after the 10th of the month.

Checks are made payable to St. Columbkille Day Care Program, since the accounts are separate from the school accounts.
